We will be honoring our 2020 Mercer County Democratic Committee Rising Stars, stay tuned — announcement of honorees coming soon.  A Rising Star is a person who has shown a strong and rapidly growing commitment to MCDC principles, ideals, candidates, and elected officials.  The strength of the Democratic Party in Mercer County is built on the hopes, dreams and actions of our Party’s Rising Stars who personify the
future of our party.

The MCDC is totally committed to ensuring 2020 victories in our towns and Mercer County, and again promoting support for the Blue Wavein New Jersey Congressional races.  The Hopewell Valley Democrats are leaders in pro-active outreach to expand the voter base and party membership.  At the same time, we are designating a Turn PA Blue Committee to begin creating a structure for Democrats who want to engage meaningfully in the presidential election in our neighboring state, which went red in 2016.  Let me know your ideas and interests, as we prepare for a successful victorious 2020!

Sincerely,
Mayor Janice S. Mironov

Dear Fellow Democrat,

The Mercer County Democratic Endorsement Convention will take place on Wednesday, March 4 at the Windsor  Athletic Club, 99 Clarksville Road, West Windsor.   A NOTICE is being sent to voting delegates.  While only qualified delegates can vote, Everyone is Welcome to Attend!

Registration will begin at 5 p.m.  Food, sponsored by county candidates, will be available, and the presidential candidates have been invited to sponsor information tables.

The Convention will be gaveled to order at 6:15 p.m.PROMPTLY.

The following individuals have filed letters of interest and deemed Qualified Candidates for endorsement by the Convention Committee, with no opposing candidate:

U.S. Senate:  Corey Booker
Congress, D12:  Bonnie Watson Coleman
Sheriff:  Jack Kemler
County Clerk:  Paula Sollami-Covello
Freeholder:  John Cimino
Freeholder :  Lucylle Walter

For Congress, D4, three candidates have filed for endorsement:  David Applefield, Christine Conforti, and Stephanie Schmidt.  A vote will take place pursuant to the MCDC rules.  ONLY voting delegates who reside in Hamilton and Robbinsville can vote.

For President, after widely soliciting input from county Democrats, the Convention Committee has determined to hold a Straw Poll, whereby voting delegates will be asked to rank their presidential choices.  Princeton Democrats have generously offered their system to efficiently process the vote.  The purpose of the Straw Poll is to generate engagement, take the temperature on that evening and have some fun.  Mercer County is not endorsing for President, and this activity does not constitute in any way an endorsement.

Thank you to the Convention Committee, our municipal and county leadership and volunteers for all of your help and support, much appreciated.  We look forward to a super Convention, and Mercer County Democrats will go forward united toward our all-important November election goals!
